Background Charlie and Carl Cocchiaro are professional guitarists and songwriters from the Boston, MA area. Self-taught musicians who began playing music at 12, they polished their craft at the University of Miami and Berklee College of Music. Working together as a songwriting team for over 20 years in Boston, New York, and Los Angeles, their original music has a melodic pop metal edge, influenced by Thin Lizzy, Def Leppard, Journey, Cheap Trick, and Boston. Their songwriting style includes arena rock rhythm guitars, harmony double-lead guitar solos, and pop vocals accented by 4-part vocal harmonies.
Performing Charlie and Carl have performed extensively throughout New England with rock bands that have included world-renowned drummer Mike Mangini of "Extreme", bassist Jesse Johnson of "Meliah Rage", singer Tommy Fey of "Farrenheit", bassist Danny Hargrove of "The Joe Perry Project", and drummer Steve Hart of "The Outlets". Additional performances have included New York, Los Angeles, and Jamaica. Their self-titled CD features hit songs "Marianne", "Sweetheart", and "Wasted Love".
Achievements Charlie and Carl have been nominated for 21 songwriting awards, voted one of the top 100 rock bands in New England, and have been featured artists in ASCAP's "Pop Music Songwriting Workshop" in NYC with their song “Loves A Beat Away”. Their song "Marianne" won the Boston Music Spotlight and earned them a hit on KISS 108 (WXKS FM). They are currently endorsed by Jackson Guitars for Jackson USA Custom Series Electrics and Stay-In-Tune(SIT) Strings.
